Driver's Licences
Drivers are to be a minimum age of 21 years old and must hold a Current Full Australian, Overseas or International Drivers Licence.

Driver's Age
Drivers of hire vehicles must be 21 years old or older and those aged 21 to 24 are restricted to the types of vehicles they can hire. All drivers under the age of 25 pay a daily age surcharge. See in store for details.

Payment
At the time of your rental, please have your current driver's licence and credit card with you. Before you drive away, you need to have the cost of the rental plus a minimum of $100 pre-authorisation security bond needs to be available on your credit card.

Security Bond - Credit Card Visa/Mastercard
After you return the hire vehicle - and if no further charges apply - the pre-authorisation charge will be automatically released by your financial institution, depending on their release cycle. Normally held for 7-21 business days, consult your financial instituion for additional details.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos (2.2% Surcharge).
American Express / Diners (5.5% surcharge) coming soon.

• Cars - $3300 inc GST + administrtation charge
  
• Trucks - $6600 inc GST + administration charge

This is included with all standard daily rates in the event of an accident with another vehicle.

All Renter liability amounts are payable at the time when returning the vehicle otherwise insurance/claims is voided.

Options to reduce your liability
We are able to offer you the option to reduce your Multi Vehicle Damage Liability to the following:

• Passenger Vehicles - $440 inc GST + administration charge
• Commercial Vehicles - $660 inc GST + administration charge

by paying a small additional amount a the time of your vehicle rental pickup:

• Passenger Vehicles - $27.50 a day (1-6 days), $20.00 a day (7-30 days), $16.50 a day (30 days+)
• Commercial Vehicles - $47.50 a day (Single Vehicle Accidents (SVA) not covered).

This Collision Damage Liability Waiver ("LDW-MVA") is optional.

Single Vehicle Damage
Abel Rent A Car does not cover any Single Vehicle Accident/Incident Damage.

Renters/Hirers/Credit Card Holders are advised that all rollovers, overhead, undercarriage, water, hail damage, abuse, negligence, offroad/beach driving, windscreen and tyre damage - however caused - is at the hirers risk and is not covered by Any Liability Damage Waivers or insurance - LDW -MVA. Please note that insurance is void if the rental car or vehicle is driven on unsealed roads.

Note: Abel Rent A Car does not sell insurance it simply offers the customer the  option to reduce your damage liability in the event of an accident. Only available at the time of rental vehicle pickup.

Administration Charges
The following administration charges will apply to your vehicle rental at the time of processing:

• $220 inc GST administration fee is charged for all Single Vehicle & Multi Vehicle Accidents.
  $97.50 inc GST administration fee is charged for all traffic infringements.
  $37.50 inc GST administration fee is charged for toll infringements.

Additional Driver
Additional drivers who are listed on the Rental Agreement under the Additional Drivers section (and have presented their current driver's licence at the time of collecting the hire vehicle) are protected under the Terms & Conditions of the Rental Agreement. A small fee may apply.

Rental Duration
Each car rental day period is 24 hours. 
Extra hours are calculated at 1/3 the daily rate until the daily rate is reached. Any options are calculated daily.

Refunds
There are no refunds for early returns, refunds may be available in certain circumstances, at the discretion of Abel Rent A Car management for early returns of rental vehicles. Any change of plans, including requests to extend, must be notified to our office in writing.

Cancellations / No Shows
We reserve the right to charge cancellation fees. During peak seasons this cancellation fee may equate to the total reservation value.

Fuel
Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. We ask that you return your rental vehicle full of fuel, or the renter/hirer/credit card holder will be charged a refueling fee of $3.30 Per Litre inc GST.

Breakdown
All vehicles are covered by 24-hour Roadside Assistance. Note: Roadside Assistance does not cover non-mechanical defects such as lost keys, keys locked in the vehicle, a flat battery due to lights being left on etc. Costs charged to Abel Rent A Car will be on-charged to the vehicle renter.

Street Directory
Street Directories are available on request fees may be applicable.

Free Airport Transfers
Regular shuttle services are available from our airport location in accordance with our hours of operation. When you return your vehicle, please allow 1 hour to check-in your hire car and transfer to the airport.

Discount Vouchers
Discount vouchers are not accepted on web rates or online specials.
